The forecast for next weekend though changing indicates lows will either be in the negative single digits or the positive single digits.  For any scouts attending the Klondike campout please plan clothing and sleeping bags accordingly.  From personal experience the temperature ratings on sleeping bags is not necessarily a comfort factor but more that you will be cold if it gets to the rated temperature.  In other words if you have a 0 degree bag you will be cold if it gets to 0 degrees.  Scouts should plan accordingly and double up sleeping bags if needed.  Please refer to the suggestions in the .pdf attachment.

Please remember to signup for the Pre-Klondike campout.  Signup closes January 7th before our first troop meeting of the year.  We have cabins reserved at Camp Zion where we had Pre-Klondike in 2013 however scouts are encouraged to camp in tents and to receive campout credit for OA eligibility are required to camp in tents.  Thanks to Andy Violette the format will be different this year.  It will be an exciting head to head patrol competition.
